Breaking lock striker plates Clejuso
Old Clejuso models 13 and 15 have a big problem: Their lock striker plates are made out of cast iron and can break easily.
This one is from my Clejuso 13. The problem of the old ones is, that if they fell down or if they were opened forcefully, the lock striker plate broke.
Mine was opend forcefully, because it was stuck after I received the package. That's one reason why this could have happened, but because I bought it used from an reseller, I don't know if they already had this problem before. It still works with the broken lock striker plate in my case, but every time the bow goes through it, it was scratches material off. Cast iron is really porous and once the surface is damaged, it crumbles...
I wrote to the head of Clejuso and they changed my lock striker plate. That's also the reason, why I have one damaged in my collection. They sent me the old one back, so I am able to show it here. The guy I wrote with told me, that this problem is known and solved. Newer products have other materials for their lock striker plates, so the phenomenom of easily broken lock striker plates won't happen anymore.
